World Horse Riding is for riders who are ready to go on the big riding adventure. Who want to meet some of the world's most charismatic horse people, and... ride their fabulous horses.

Founded 17 years ago by Anna Widstrand, World Horse Riding is now owned and operated by Michele Dolcetti, a highly experienced horseman and tourism operator.

Born into a farming family, Michele says,

"I was born in the province of Ferrara, Italy in 1963. My family had an agricultural farm where I grew up with horses from child on. Later I started to visit professional horse barns, tried to learn more about all equestrian events and took riding lessons.

In the year 1987 I had the chance to take part in a international horse rally from Italy to Africa across the Sahara desert. This experience changed my life - I decided to become a professional horseman. From 1988 to 1998 I worked as employee and also in teamwork mainly in the horse tourist business in Italy, particularly in Tuscany.

In the last 10 years I have run my own horse business based on the border of Tuscany and Latium. My operating area included the provinces Siena, Grosseto in Tuscany and Viterbo in Latium, where I developed and specialized myself exclusive in horse trail riding. The weekly packages were sold from several specialized agencies all over the world. For the future of me and my family I decided to change the operative work and bought the horse holiday agency from my old friend Anna Widstrand."

World Horse Riding started out with intense riding experiences in the Camargue region in southern France in 1992, and now we organise similar trips to the South of Africa, Pantanal in Brazil, Alberta in Canada, the South of France, the South of Germany, Rajasthan in India, to Tuscany in Italy, Spain, Östergötland in Sweden and Russia in the far border with Asia.

We only select a few, handpicked destinations, to make sure that the quality of the experience is secured. And to get close to the local horse culture. Really close.

World Horse Riding cooperates with a dozen freelance guides, all local people, to make sure the connection to the land we are visiting is always there. Michele personally travels with the groups to most destinations, to translate and guide together with the local guides. (More...)

Tailored Rides   

World Horse Riding's riding holidays have all been chosen with utmost care. All horses are healthy, well kept, and nice to ride. All guides have training and long experience, and security is always on the top of our list, both for riders and horses. That doesn't mean we don't have fun, though!

Ecotourism   

World Horse Riding always makes sure the local population gets its fair share of the revenues of the travelling groups, and only travels to people and places that put nature conservation first.
